Car air freshener quality control
Quality Checks from Sample to Shipment
For a car fragrance buyer, quality means three things: the product looks like the approved sample, it smells like the approved scent, and it works: it hangs, clips, seals and releases as intended. Our car air freshener quality control is organized around those three questions and follows each product's structure.
- Approved sample kept for every SKU
- Checks at six stages
- Batch codes on every carton
Checking against the approved sampleWhat quality means here
Looks right, smells right, works right
Every check on this page answers one of these three questions, against the sample you approved.
- It looks like the approved sample
Print color and registration, cut shape, finish, logo quality and pack, compared side by side with the retained sample.
- It smells like the approved scent
Fragrance oil checked against its reference on arrival, and production samples compared with the retained reference by trained staff.
- It works as intended
Clip grip, closure fit, seal integrity, fill level, lids and device functions checked on the line.
Where we check
Six checkpoints, from sample to shipment
- Sample approval

What we check, by product type
Checks that follow the structure
A paper hanger and an electric diffuser fail in different ways, so each family has its own key checks.
| Product type | Key checks |
|---|---|
| Printed paper and felt | Print color and registration against proof, cut accuracy, hang hole, string, pouch seal |
| Vent and visor clips | Clip grip and spring, housing finish, insert fit, logo quality |
| Liquids and membranes | Fill level, closure torque or fit, seal integrity, upright and brief-inversion checks, label |
| Gel and fiber cans | Net weight, gel clarity and color, seal film, lid function |
| Electric diffusers | Power-on and mode functions, charging, cartridge fit, accessories |
| Gift sets | Every component present, insert fit, box condition |
How we check
Simple methods, recorded every time
- Comparison to the approved sample for appearance, color and fragrance
- Weighing for fill and net content
- Function checks for clips, closures, lids and devices
- Seal checks for liquids, membranes and pouches
- Fragrance comparison of production samples against the retained reference, by trained staff
Every check comes with its conditions. Each result is recorded with the method and conditions used: the temperature for a seal check, the reference sample for a fragrance comparison, the sample size for an inspection. That makes our results easy to read, easy to repeat and easy to share with your own quality team.
Records and inspection
Every batch can be traced back
Retained samples and traceability
- The approved sample and specification are retained for each product version.
- Production batches carry a batch or date code on the pack or carton.
- Batch records link the code to production date, materials and fragrance lot.
- Retained production samples are kept for comparison if a question comes up later.
Third-party inspection
Many customers appoint an inspection company before shipment. We welcome it: we provide access, the approved sample and specification, and the packing list, and schedule the inspection as soon as goods are packed.
- Access to finished cartons and the packing area
- Approved sample and specification on hand
- Packing list and carton marks ready for checking
When something is not right
Held, fixed and replaced before it ships
If a check fails, the batch is held, the cause is identified and the products are reworked or replaced before shipment. If you report a problem after delivery, we investigate with the batch code, photos and retained samples, and agree a solution with you.
After delivery
Send the batch code, photos and the quantities affected. We compare with the retained samples and come back with the cause and the fix.
Documents for each SKU
Quality records sit alongside the product documents for each SKU: safety data sheet, IFRA conformity documentation and test reports.
